If you know anything about the New England boating circuit, then you’ve probably heard of the New England Boat Show. It’s the region’s premier boating event and we’re going to be there! We’ll be showing off some of our latest models and we want you to visit us. Call Richardson’s Boat Yard in Windham and Standish, Maine, near Portland and Auburn, for more information on the event and where you can find us. It’s one of our favorite shows, so don’t miss out!

The New England Boat Show takes place every day from Saturday, February 9, to Sunday, February 17, at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center. Visit their website for more information on ticket prices. You can find us at booth K11.

Why Go to a Boat Show?

You might be wondering what the point of a boat show is, or even if you should go. If you ask us, we think they’re just fun to attend. You’re going to see some of the latest models from this year’s most popular brands and you’ll meet other enthusiasts that you can swap tips and stories with.

But there are other reasons to attend a boat show. You might be looking for a new boat yourself, in which case this is the place to see all the best crafts in one spot. No driving from dealership to dealership. Simply go for a nice stroll through the the showrooms and check out some of the features that make each model exciting and unique. Even if you don’t want to buy a boat right now, checking out the new models of today can give you an idea of tomorrow’s used models. Or, if you’re more interested in upgrading a craft you currently own, then you’re in luck. Boat shows are a great resource for aftermarket parts and exciting market innovations.

Even if you’re new to the experience, boat shows are a great place to be surrounded by people of varying backgrounds and experience levels. This is a great place to learn more about what to expect, gather tips and ideas, and simply get excited about our favorite pastimes.

What to Expect

Once you’ve decided to go, you’ll find that all the information you’re looking for can be found in a number of different ways. You can walk around and chat with other attendees, but you can also attend seminars and workshops to get expert opinions and hands-on experience. At the New England Boat Show, you’ll find seminars on just about every boating activity, from a wide variety of fishing tips to navigation and boating smarts to tips for your first mate and a plethora of safety tips. Consider choosing some seminars to get some of the latest tips, but avoid packing your day so much that you have no time to eat, rest or roam around.

What to Bring

You won’t want to show up to any boat show empty handed. We recommend a few key essentials to help you survive your first boat show, starting with comfortable shoes. After all, that’s a lot of walking around you’ll be doing. Also bring with you a camera (if you’re cell phone doesn’t come with one you like) and a notebook and pencil. Consider bringing some sort of tote or bag to hold all your brochures and knick knacks, and if you have them, bring business cards or calling cards to give to dealers.

Now you’re all ready for the New England Boat Show! Even if you just come for the experience, we’re sure you’re going to have a great time. And don’t forget to visit our booth! You can also visit us any time at Richardson’s Boat Yard in Windham and Standish, Maine, serving Portland and Auburn.
